London Drum Show 2015. I had the tremendously good fortune to be asked along to this years London Drum Show by Keith Keough of the British Drum Company to help launch his beautiful drums and bring this brand into drum world.
My account of the London Drum Show is more of a reflection of what I saw from the BDC stand – it was just another day’s work after all… However I did give myself a wee break to catch up with some of the legends of our industry and get a few snaps to get you guys in the mood for our very own Scottish Drum Fest this coming Saturday the 28th November.
So the show itself had an amazing vibe to it. By 10am the street outside the Olympia was lined with drummers excited to get in and see what the industry and players had in store for them. All ages and levels of drummer were present and the initial feeling of excitement at being surrounded by drums, drummers and drumming was never dropped all day. Smiles absolutely everywhere! Most performers on the various stages throughout the day were happily walking around and engaging with fans. The players also checked out a lot of the gear on display and took time to explain their own kits to adoring youngsters adding to an already unbeatable buzz for all to enjoy. Parents were catching snaps of their wee one’s demoing gear and catching the scrapbook moment with the famous guys – also did a wee bit of that myself to be honest!
I was blown away by my invitation from the British Drum Company guys and what I witnessed was amazing. Both in company but mainly on the stand where everyone left with a smile on their faces. I cannot thank them enough for this and my new memories of this unveiling weekend. A serious team of the best guys out there. At one point described by Ian Matthews saying “we’re like a band!” – and he should know.In my own findings I’m delighted to reveal that this drum company are the sum of all it’s parts and it works beautifully.
Please check out the album of my other shots from the show where I’ve stuck a wee bit more relevant info. Some of the gear was incredible and well worth checking out.
So who’s all in the mood for a Scottish Drum Fest then? Let’s do something this coming Saturday!
Hope to see you there. dD X
